Frankening Fun!

Hi guys!  I'm really sorry I've been MIA for a few days, I've been feeling a bit crappy so I didn't think I'd sound much like my usual chirpy self in a blog post :)  I'm feeling a lot better today though, and I am excited about today's post, as I will be showing my first attempt at making my own polish.......

So, the first polish I made is Unicorn Soup, and iridescent glitter topper, best worn over black or another dark colour.  It has fine iridescent glitter, medium blue/green iridescent hexes, and larger rainbow iridescent hexes.  I did add a couple of flakies at the start as well, but the ones I had were really big and not very nice to be honest.  This swatch is one coat over a black base.
I want to add a bit more glitters to this, as it's a little more sparse than I would like, but I'm not sure if I want to mix up a new bottle without the flakies, or just continue with this bottle, and avoid the flakies where I can.  Overall, i really like this mix of glitters, and I think I will adore this polish once I've finished tweaking it.
Bit of a blurry picture, but I loved how it caught the reflection of the glitters, so I had to include it anyway.
While I'm not 100% happy with it yet, I am quite pleased with this polish so far.
The second polish I made is Allons-y! - a glitter topper full of silver holo stars, diamonds, and fine glitter, purple holo shards, with blue holo hexes, and short bar glitter.  This is 1 coat over Barry M - Blue Grape, with top coat.  I didn't fish for any extra stars as I wanted to see how many would come out by themselves.  I think I may add a few more stars to the bottle, but I am happy with the rest of it.  I think it might look better over a darker colour too, so I'll try that next time.
Unfortunately, I managed to break my scoop the last time I was frankening, so I won't be able to make any adjustments until I have ordered some more :(
So, overall, I'm quite pleased with how these 2 turned out for my first go.  I'm really looking forward to playing around with frankening some more in the future, and I've been buying pigments and glitters all over the place, so watch out for a lot more polishes in the next few months or so.

What do you guys think of these?  Have you had a go at mixing your own polishes?  If so, how did you find it? (except for messy of course)
