FingerFood's Theme Buffet - For Scarlett

Hi guys, and welcome to another week of FingerFood's Theme Buffet.  This week is a special one, as it's Sam's daughter, Scarlett's birthday on Thursday, and our prompt is For Scarlett :D I seriously love this idea, it's such a sweet thing of Sam to do for her daughter, and I'm immensely happy to be a part of it.  It also doesn't hurt that Scarlett is one cool little lady, just like her mum! :D

So, I decided to have another go at stamping decals, and do a fairies and rainbows mani.  I started with a base of Sinful Colors - Snow me White, and made the stamping decals with MoYou XL - Fairytale 01, Barry M - Plum (dark purple), Rimmel Lycra Pro - Ultra Violet (light purple) and Revlon - Cupid. (pink).  The last time I did decals I used Seche Vite, but they were really stiff and hard to apply.  This time I used Xtreme Nail - Tacky base coat for the decals, and it was SO much easier!  They were quite thin, and really flexible, and applying them was just a million times easier than the SV ones.  It does have a tiny green tinge to it, but I didn't find it noticeable on the nail.
The ring finger is a freehand decal I made on a zip-lock bag with Plum, and Sharpie's for the rainbow.  I added the rainbow on the index finger with Sharpie's after applying the decal.  I think this looked better without the plum outline and dots, but what you gonna do? :p
And finally, for the thumb nail I did a sort of neon polka dot birthday cake with Sharpie's.  For some reason, my idiot brain didn't think to do this as a decal though!  *facedesk! I wish I had of, writing on nails is bloody hard.  I did manage to fit all the letters on there, but thanks to my curvy thumb nail you can't really see it.

I had some major smudging issues with the decals, and a couple of spots where I managed to ding it somehow - mostly down to my own lack of patience, but luckily it's only really noticeable in photos.  IRL this looked pretty good.  I really like this design, so much that I'm going to have another go on my next few days off, and hopefully do a tutorial to go with it.  I'll probably tweak the colours a bit so it doesn't get boring, but I'm determined to be more patient next time.  I think I was kind of expecting to ruin this trying to apply the decals, so wasn't exactly prepared for it to work!

Scarlett - I really hope you like this design, even if I was a silly Sarah and smudged it!  I hope your birthday is filled with magic, smiles, and lots and lots of cake! <3
