I started out with 3 coats of Dark Metal Lacquer - Whisper. This polish looks great at 2 coats but I love the level of depth you get with 3 so I went for that extra one. Then I took 4 of my sheer tints; OPI - I Can Teal You Like Me, Be Magentle With Me, and Don't Violet me Down, as well as a blue that I made myself, and blobbed them on different areas for each nail. I top coated, and gave that a little bit of drying time before adding my detail.
I wasn't sure what I was going to put on this base at first, but eventually I decided it would make a cool base for a galaxy mani. The stars are actually stamps from Pueen60 from the Buffet Set. The whole plate is covered with galaxy style stars, but I've always found it a bit intimidating because of the stripes that are inverted running through it. (Google it, you'll see what I mean :p) Today I realised I could just isolate individual stars from the parts that aren't inverted and use them on any galaxy mani (duh!) I stamped a few of each size star with Konad white, and then used the pointy end of an orange wood stick to scatter a few little dots about. Then I top coated it a bit later on, as I was a little worried about smudging the Konad :D
So, I adore how this mani turned out. It did feel a little bit odd doing a galaxy mani without a single cream polish (especially black), but I think it still works. I've actually had this on for about 3 days now, and I'm still not looking forward to taking it off. It's just so sparkly and pretty :D
So, I know I love it, but what about you guys? Are you loving the holographic galaxy as much as I am?
That's all from me today, but I'll be back in a day or two hopefully. I do have some mani's ready to post, so as long as I can find the time to actually get one or two typed up, I shall see you all very soon. In the meantime, please do go and check out all the other Holographic mani's for this week, either by browsing the thumbnails below, visiting the hub page, here, or searching the hashtag #A2ZNails on Instagram.
