Hiya lovelies! So, today we're up to C in the A2Z, and the prompt for this week is Copy Cat. Now, I really really loved the outlined chevrons mani that Charlie did for A, (here) so I decided to copy her, but still trying to put my own spin on it.........
So, I decided to keep the baby pink and black chevron theme, but used a silver instead of a gold, and skipped trying to paint the model silhouette in favour of an accent nail with one of my most loved stamping images. So, I started by painting my thumb, pinky, and index fingers with 2 coats of Dark Metal Lacquer - Whisper. For the thumb and pinky fingers, I applied some relaxed chevron nail vinyl's, and painted over them with Revlon Top Speed - Cupid, then outlined the chevrons with black acrylic paint, For the index finger, I just stamped the zig-zags from MoYou Back to the 80's 04 with a black stamping polish. (sorry, I don't remember which one I used)
For the middle finger, I did the same as the thumb and pinky finger, just over a clear base coat instead of Whisper. Then for the ring finger I painted my nail with Revlon - Cupid, and placed a black holo, and 2 silver holographic circle glitters that I got from The Nail Arcade. (the silver ones were originally sent for review, and the black ones I bought myself)
I really love how this turned out. The only thing I would change, is to wait for it to dry properly, and outline the chevrons with a sharpie instead of acrylic paint. It would have been a lot neater if I had, but I wasn't really in the mood to wait for that long :D I think this mani is really cute though, so it suits this length nicely. It was also cool to use some negative space for once. I wasn't keen on the idea before my cut down, as the tips of my nails were quite stained from regular polish use. Now they're short I don't need to worry about that, so I can use it whenever I want :D
I hope Charlie approves of my recreation of her lovely mani, and I hope you guys like it too.
That's all from me today, but I'll be back tomorrow with a few more MoYou Nails bits to review, including a nude stamping polish, which I'm pretty excited about trying. In the meantime, please do have a look at all the other copy cat mani's by visiting the hub page here, browsing the thumbnails below, or searching the hashtag #A2ZNails on Instagram......
Well done! I like it! :)
