Hiya lovelies! Sorry for the lack of posts around here of late, I'm still trying to get caught up on work stuff during my "holiday", which hasn't left a lot of time for nail painting. Nonetheless, I had to make sure I put something together for this weeks A2Z. We're up to D this week, and the prompt is Dark. I had a few ideas for night time scenes in my head, but due to time constraints I had to think of something a lot simpler.........
Something simple that I really love wearing is a plain, matte black mani, and I literally can't remember the last time I wore one, so I decided to do one for this week. I used just one coat of Laqa & Co - Black Gloss from the Tuxedo duo, and used Barry M's matte top coat over my HKGirl. I bought the Barry M from nailpolish.co.uk about a week or so ago, as my Model's Own was getting low, and I'm really impressed with it so far. With the MO, and the NYC one I had before, I had to wait for my polish to be totally dry before using them, or they didn't mattify fully, so I usually had to wait till the next day to use it. With the Barry M one, I've been using it a couple of hours after finishing my mani, and it's dried completely matte :D
I decided to do a single accent nail to add a bit of oomph to this mani, so I painted my ring finger with Dark Metal Lacquer - Flashy Sparklies, and applied a coat of Gelous to give a nice smooth finish. Once that was dry enough, I stamped a very small section of the tree branches from MoYou Suki 10 with the Laqa & Co.
So, I actually really loved this mani. The contrast between the matte black, and the crazy sparkle of the accent nail is really pretty, and it was really nice to wear some plain matte black nails again. What do you guys think?
That's all from me today, but I'll be back in a day or two hopefully, as I have managed to paint a couple of mani's between working, I just need to sort through the photos first :D In the meantime, you should definitely check out the other mani's for this week by either browsing the thumbnails below, visiting the hub page, here, or searching #A2ZNails on Instagram......
Wow. This looks amazing. I never would have guessed the accent was stamping from a tree design. Before I read your post I was trying to work out how you'd done it. Looks awesome x
ReplyDeleteAwww thanks lovely! It kind of reminds me of a water spotted mani actually :D The section is seriously huge in comparison to my little nubs though, so it's not surprising that you can't really tell. <3
DeleteBlack and gold perfection! Love that stamping :)
