Nail-Art-A-Go-Go - Day 15 - Round & Square

Hi guys and welcome to Day 15 of the NAGG challenge.  The prompt for today is Round & Square, which seemed like the perfect prompt to bust out the circle glitters.  Unfortunately, this seems to be one of those manis that looks better in real life than in a macro photo.....

This was quite a simple idea, I started with a base of Sinful Colors - Black on Black, then added a coat of Indy's Indies - Baubles, and fished for a few extra glitters to get a pretty dense coverage.  (By the way, Indy's Indies is shutting down for a while by the end of the month, so if there's anything you want, you may want to grab it soon!)  Then I added a few coats of Gelous, some Seche Vite, and let it dry completely.  Once it was dry, I taped off opposite corners of each nail, and filled the rest in with black before peeling the tape up.  Another top coat, and some more drying time, and then I added some striping tape down the divide.
Annoyingly, it looks pretty lumpy and bumpy in the photos, but in real life that wasn't very noticeable.  I think the shine from all the top coat, and the holo from the circles was too distracting for anyone to really notice.  Lumps and bumps aside, I liked this mani, and think I will definitely be trying something similar in the future. (Maybe with a couple more coats of Gelous this time though :p)
What do you guys think of this design?  Is it a bit too lumpy for you, or, like me, do you love circle glitter too much to care?
Don't forget to check out the other Round & Square mani's in the thumbnails below!

  1. Looove the circle glitter! There are just some things that won't come out in the pics how it looks in real life. And that sucks! But I think these look great in the photos and the whole design looks like a set of perfectly wrapped presents :)

  3. Some glitters are just too fab to lie down flat...they just have to party in 3D! What the hey, I like textured nails. LOL
