A-Z of Polish: X is for........Xtreme Wear!

Hiya lovelies!  I'm back today with my post for this weeks A-Z of Polish.  We're up to X this week, and since I didn't have any polishes in my stash with names starting with X, I decided to do Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear instead.........

I started with a base of SH Xtreme Wear - Raspberry Rave.  The formula on this was pretty runny. and not very opaque.  I used 3 coats here, and I had some issues with it pooling around the cuticles at first.  It also dries to a weird rubbery finish that I'm not very keen on.  Thankfully I was planning to layer something else over it, and then stamp over that, so I didn't feel the need to go in with more than 3 coats to reach opacity.

Next, I layered SH Xtreme Wear Pink-Grape Fruit, which is a gorgeous pinky purple glitter in a slightly purple tinted base.  I can't remember if I used one or two coats now, but I found the formula on this was a lot easier to get on with.  Then I stamped with SH Insta-Dri - Grape Escape, which is a gorgeous bluey/purple shimmer, and MoYou Mother Nature 05, and top coated.

I have to say, once I'd added my topcoat the base colour took on a bit more of a jelly look about it, so I may have to see how it works for a jelly sandwich. Despite being very disappointed with Raspberry Rave initially, I actually loved how this mani turned out.  The glitter really twinkles in the light, and takes this mani up a notch two in my books.  It doesn't hurt that I got both of the Xtreme Wear polishes for 99p from Fragrance Direct either! :)
