31DC - Day 2 - Tape Mani

Hiya lovelies!  So today is Day 2 of the #31DC, and the prompt is Tape Mani.  I really liked today's mani, but it's a shame, because I really struggled to get my photos colour accurate............

I started with 2 coats of Barry M Socialite, and then added random brushstrokes with Fashion Icon, VIP, and Socialite, and top coated.  The next morning, I used some thin chevron vinyls on the middle and ring fingers, and painted over it with Revlon - Royal.  For the thumb, index and pinky finger, I used a wider straight vinyl down the middle, and a piece of regular striping tape down either side.  The vinyls are from She Sells Seashells, and I'm really loving them.  They're so easy to use, and the end result is so cool.
I'm not sure if it was because of the jellyish nature of Royal, or my camera was just throwing a fit, but I couldn't capture the true depth of the blue at all.  It was a lot closer to this macro that I took with my phone camera.....
As you can see, I had a little issue with getting my vinyl's up quick enough, but luckily it only seems to have affected one chevron on this nail.  Isn't that a stunning base though!?  I'm quite proud of this picture to be honest.  It's pretty drool worthy :D



So, I was a little bit in love with this mani.  The base colour adds a lot of depth to blue, and the general squishy-ness of this makes me very happy.  What do you guys think?

    I love the colors in this! I don't have any vinyls and I'm always a little envious when I see them used. Altogether beautiful!

      Thanks lovely! I didn't use them myself for ages either, only admired from afar. Then I got a few in a swap and quite liked them. Then I saw the She Sells Seashells 50% off black friday sale, and, well......... I might have bought a *few* :p xx
