Rimmel Sweetie Crush - Candyfloss Cutie & Violet Swizzle

Hi guys!  Today I have swatches of 2 of the new(ish) Rimmel Sweetie Crush textures.  These are sparkly textured pastels, with a bit of a frostiness to them too.  Like most of you, I'm not really keen on frosts, so  I wasn't sure whether I would like these or not, but I have to say, I came to really like the finish once it was dry.......

First up is Candyfloss Cutie.  As the name would suggest, this is the light pink of the set.  I'm showing 3 coats and no top coat in these photos.  The finish on these is kind of hard to describe, at first look you might just think it's a normal textured glitter,  just not quite as sparkly as some, but when you have a proper look, there's these tiny little bits of iridescent shimmer that are really pretty.  I will be including macros of both shades so you guys can hopefully get a good look at the finish.
Although this did need 3 coats for full opacity, the formula was easy to work with, like most textures you don't need to do a whole bunch of clean up since they're not very partial to pooling around the cuticle.
I think the texture improves the look of frosts a heck of a lot, what about you guys?
And now, we have Violet Swizzle, the lilac one, again, shown at 3 coats and no top coat.  This was the first thing I put on when I had to cut my nails down, it seemed like a great polish to help me embrace my new shorter length.  Funnily enough, now that I've had to cut them down even more, these look really long to me now. It's funny, how our perceptions can change so much in just a few days, isn't it?
Now, you guys may already know this, but I am a purple lover, so no surprises that this was my favorite.  This was the only one from the collection I knew I needed, no matter what.  Now that I've worn these ones though, I want the blue too, and maybe even the other 2 ;)
The formula on this was exactly the same as the pink, needs 3 coats, but really easy to work with.  The dry time on these seemed very reasonable too, which was a blessing.
Overall, I'm impressed with these 2 polishes.  I really like that Rimmel are doing something different with textures too, I would never have thought of a textured frost, but I love the way they look.  It is also worth mentioning how cute the bottles are.  They're the same shape and size as the space dusts, but they have pink and white stripes on the lid that look like the awning on a retro sweet shop - such a nice little touch.  I bought these from the Superdrug website for £3.99 each.  By the way, they have Buy 1 get the 2nd half price, and free delivery on orders over £10 on at the moment too :D  You can also get them at Boots, where they're currently on 3 for 2 as well.

What do you guys think, does the frosty look put you off, or, like me, do you think they've just made frosts work.  Maybe you like frosts, either way, I'd love to hear your thoughts on these polishes!

    1. The don't look very good in the bottle, but once the texture comes into play they're pretty cool. I think they make a great base for nail art too, they don't interfere with the design as much as a full on glittery texture would :D xx

  3. I haven't been into the city yet since we got back but I did a pass down the cosmo aisle at tesco and these weren't there so I'm safe at l3east until next week when I have to restock acetone and cotton pads. Becauae yanno... I need more on my untried pile! Great swatches babe. Sorry about your breaks but glad you didnt end up in the quick. The curse of a nail blogger: unscheduled breaks.

    1. haha, you always need more on your untried pile :D Thanks hun, they've still got a nice bit of length to them, although they still look short to me, but I'm coming around to them now - they're kind of cute. They won't be on the blog for at least a week though, I have been painting a lot recently :p xx
