Hiya lovelies! I hope you're all having a great weekend. Today I'm just squeezing in this weeks prompt for the Colour me Crazy challenge, being run through the British Nail Bloggers group. Last weeks prompt was a toughie - orange - but now here comes the really hard one: Yellow. From what I've seen, yellow is one of the most hated polish colours out there. I don't exactly hate it, but I don't use it very often......
So, after much debating, I decided to do some colourful heart leopard print. I started with a base of Barry M - Coconut, and started drawing the hearts and leopard print in black acrylic paint. Once it was dry I begun to fill in the spots and hearts with Rimmel I <3 Lasting Finish - Sunshine, Illamasqua - Gamma, and BYS - Pink Panic. I also switched up how the colours were arranged on each nail, so on the index finger they're diagonal, on the middle and pinkie fingers they're horizontal, and on the ring finger they're vertical. I think the thumb was diagonal too, although I'm not 100% on that. :p
Once it was all dry, I top coated and cleaned up my cuticles. In hindsight, I probably should have gone back over the black lines in some places, but it's a bit late for that now. Other than that one little annoyance I was pretty happy with how this mani turned out.
I hope you guys aren't getting too tired of the bright summery mani's yet, as I have another one to post for the Theme Buffet this week. This one will be coming with a tutorial too, provided I haven't messed up taking pictures at each stage, so watch out for that.
In the meantime, why not check out what the other ladies have managed to do with their yellow polishes this week, in the thumbnails below.
Love love LOVE these!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I like yellow nail polish and I use it quite often in summer, but not really in other seasons because when my skin is too pale yellow clash awfully on my tips.
