Nail-Art-A-Go-Go - Day 9 - Inner Geek

Hi guys, I'm back today with Day 9 of the NAGG challenge, and the prompt for today is Inner Geek.  There are so many things I could have done for this prompt, mostly involving Sci-Fi, but since there's already a Sci-Fi prompt later in the month, I decided to take it in a different direction.

So, lets start with a little fun fact about me then shall we? :) I really like doing basic algebra!  I remember when we first covered it in high school, there was just something I found very soothing about filling in the gaps in equations.  I didn't study it after high school. I'm not some sort of maths genius or anything, but it was just something I enjoyed, so I decided to base my mani on that.
I just painted my nails with Sally Hansen CSM - Lavender Cloud, and when it was dry, went in with some Sharpies and wrote out all the equations.  I'll admit, I googled for a worksheet since it was late and I was tired, although I did come up with a few of them myself :)
I also used some SV over the white base so I could draw some squiggles in Sharpie and wipe them away again with a bit of remover for that authentic mucky whiteboard look - you know how there's always a bit of the word left behind :D
So, what do you guys think of my inner geek mani then? (be nice :p)  How about algebra - anyone else like it, or do you all think I'm a total weirdo now ;)
Don't forget to check out the other geeky girls manis in the thumbnails below!

  1. VERY geeky! LOL Enjoying maths in school isn't so bad. Mr Inky likes to reread his high school calculus book from time to time, just for fun. He's an uber geek! <3

    1. Thanks :D It's a shame I can't make a smiley face with train track braces eh? Funny thing was, apart from algebra, english was my favourite subject, didn't like the rest of maths that much! My Inky sounds cool, uber geeks are the best kind :D

    2. I bet you could if you tried! I was an art major all the way tho I liked history & geography...and reading. I made friends with the librarians at every school I went to growing up.

He's really more of an old school nerd that looks like Santa Claus & is the smartest person I know. (like major IQ points) We make an odd couple for sure, but we balance each other well & hopefully will continue to do so for decades to come. <3

    3. I LOVE reading - I stopped for a while in my teens, wanting to be cool and all that bull, but have since rekindled my love for books, although nails are really starting to eat into my reading time recently!
Mr Inky has a beard???? If so, he's double awesome! I encouraged my OH to grow a beard, and he has a little one now, I'm so pleased XD I think you guys sound like a great couple :D How long have you guys been married if you don't mind me asking? xxx

    4. I still read everyday, but I use a Kindle now. He has a full, mostly white Santa beard (he keeps it trimmed so it just touches his chest) with long white sausage curl hair that he wears in a pony. 23 years & counting!

    5. My brother got me a Kindle for my birthday last year, I love it :D Wowzers, that's awesome! Me and Charlie have only been together almost 4 years, living together for 3 but we get on so well it feels like nothing! He is growing his hair out now too, just past his shoulders now - colour me happy :p x

    6. When it works, it can work forever. I don't remember what his nekkid face looks like! He's had the beard for over 20 years. LOL

  2. These are so cool looking, they really remind me of the white boards that we had in high school! This is kind of making me miss my math classes haha

    1. :D Thanks, that's exactly what I was going for - although it would have been more authentic if my sharpies were running out XD

    1. Aww, thanks hun! It is pretty hard to write on nails, I just told myself messy is good, since most of my maths teachers had scrawly handwriting anyway :D x
