I'm not sure if anyone has done this before and I've just forgotten where I saw it, or whether I had a genuine stroke of genius, so if you have seen it done somewhere before, I would be very grateful if you could let me know where in the comments :) Anyway, I have always heard that glitter polishes won't spread out in the water properly, so instead, I used a base of Sinful Colors - Hottie, a blue jelly packed with iridescent glitters. Then after it was dry, I did a watermarble with LaFemme - Pluto (a deep blue with purple shimmer) and LaFemme clear polish.
I'm nowhere near good enough at watermarbling yet to draw any set pattern in the polish, so I just went for any random pattern I could muster. I like the results though, some nails are darker, and some are more sparkly. I think the middle finger is my favourite though, I love how it turned out, although I was really pleased with the pinky too.
Overall, I would call this mani a success, although I still have a long way to go. That's it from me today, but I will be back for tomorrows prompt, and that is a mani I really loved, despite a rather hefty amount of smudging during top coating :D
It looks like shiny pebbles under a flowing stream of beauty! <3

DeleteThis is awesome! I'm going to have to try marbling with clear polish...it opens things up so much - you did a great job!
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks hun! It does leave us a lot more options. The clear polish I used by La Femme works great, and it's less than £2 on ebay, just in case you don't have one that works :) xx
DeleteI like this. Inky Whiskers is right on with that description.
ReplyDeleteThanks hun, I thought so too :) x
