Nail-Art-A-Go-Go - Day 5 - Contrast

Hi guys, welcome to Day 5 of the NAGG challenge.  Today's prompt is Contrast, and I decided on some bold black stamping over a neon pink base.  The base is Raspberry Rush by Color Club, over a white base to help the neon really pop, and the stamping is Konad Black and the evil tree branches from MoYou London Fairytale 01.

This was another simple mani, but I wanted the colours to be the main focus of this design anyway so I think it's for the best.  I will have something a little more complicated for tomorrows post though, and not a stamp in sight!
I love this colour combo so much that I often have my hair in these 2 colours too, so as you can imagine, I was very fond of this mani.  A little annoyed about the smudging on the pinky nail, I seem to be getting a lot of that recently.  I think I should thin out my Seche a little bit more, and be a little more patient next time.
As always, don't forget to check out the other mani's for this prompt at the bottom of the post :)

    1. Thanks hun, and tell me about it, mine is currently in a semi-blonde recovery phase :/ I've vowed to stop getting lazy and using permanant black though - I always end up stripping it back out to go bright anyway! xx

  3. You do the most FUN things on your nails!!!

You match your nails to your hair too? Awesomeness! I haven't done black in my hair to date (that's 30+ years of dying fyi) due to being so naturally pale (like corpse pale lol), but the thought of black streaks going thru my bright colors has me intrigued.

    1. hehe, thanks sweetie! When my hair was layered, I had hot pink on top, and black underlayers so they just peeked out of the ends - I loved it, although I have had plain black too :) Being English, I'm super-duper pale too - I don't tan, just burn lol. I don't think I'll ever be tanned, but I've rocked pretty much every hair colour under the sun - even ginger a few times. Embrace your pasty-ness Miss Inky! :p

    2. Our weather is a lot like yours plus I'm on a med that will quickly turn me into a lobster in the sun, so I've had to embrace being the Queen of the North Wet Dead. LOL When I was in Vietnam a few years ago, the women kept touching my arms to see if the white rubbed off.

I did various shades of ginger for those 30 yrs. LOL When Lady GaGa came out with the song 'Hair' I decided to go for the colors I'd always wanted to wear. Hmmm...maybe if I tip my fringes (I have bangs & short hair along the skin line) in black & keep the long part brightly colored?

    3. Haha, that's so funny, bet you wish it worked though! :D
I first started with my hair when I was about 12, I tried to dye it purple, not a clue what I was doing - needless to say it was a disaster lol. Then at about 19, I tried again, and was hooked from then on. I've only ever had compliments on it, and I just find it amusing if people stare. I was so nervous at first, but it ended up being a boost to my confidence.
The black tips sound awesome - I love dip dye hair. Do it!!
The craziest hair I've had so far was black, blue and hot pink dreads that came down to my bum - they got heavy though :) xx

    4. I started at 14 with dark auburn. My mom helped then & was totally cool with my going bright 2 yrs ago. Her 1st comment was' You FINALLY did it!' I luv my mom!

Same here tho I get the giggles when somebody is so disturbed by my hair that can't look me in the face. LOL

How long did it take to comb your dreads out? I can't do them cuz my hair is too fine & I'd end up with very few really skinny locks that would look pathetic. LOL Just last weekend I ran into a lady with dreads that she had dip bleached then dyed in rainbow colors. It's her answer to going gray, just like brights are mine.

My 'wildest' dye job was last summer. Hubs helped me bleach out all traces of brown & left over ginger dye then we used my left over bright dyes to color sections in various shades of purple & pink. (I luv how the dyes I use can be saved since I need 3oz & the packaging here is either 2oz or 4oz) I looked like My Little Pony! I've been tipping my fringes blue with either pink or purple roots for over a year now. Right now I'm magenta & purple...but black tipping is calling me! Maybe for my big trip this summer, left over dye streaks with black tipping might be just the ticket.

    5. My mum actually likes my hair colours too, aren't mums fab!
My dreads were actually synthetic ones that I made myself with loose hair and a steamer - it was handy as you could buy the hair in any colour too! I especially like candy cane dreads, where you swirl 2 colours together :) My natural hair is too thin to dread properly too, but you just braid these into your hair with a blanket stitch braid, and you can keep them in for a couple of months, although they need a lot of drying time when you wash them. You can just take them out and put them through the washing machine though :D xx

    6. Cool mums are the BEST! <3

Clever puss to make your own dreads! The whole concept of using a washing machine to wash your 'hair' has my mind going all kinds of wacky places. LOL
