31DC - Day 4 - Happiness

Hiya lovelies, and welcome to day 4 of the 31 day challenge.  The prompt for today is Happiness, which could be interpreted in all sorts of ways.  I didn't have much time to think about this prompt, as I only decided I was going to take on this challenge 2 days before it started, so I decided to just pick out some of my favourite nail things and make a mani out of them......

I picked out Dark Metal Lacquer - Flashy Sparklies and She's Like Heroin as my design colours.  FS, and her silver sister, Whisper, have provided me with a lot of warm fuzzies since I bought them, and SLH is also named after a System of a Down song, which is awesome.
Then I picked out my all time favourite stamping image, the inverted roses from MoYou Pro XL 07, and stamped them on the ring and middle fingers with a black cream.  (my favourite cream, naturally).
Then for the pinky, index, and thumb, I decided to use some single chevron vinyl's from She Sells Seashells to create some thick chevrons.  I used the vinyl's two at a time to get thicker sections, painted over them with SLH, and then pulled them up with some tweezers.  Vinyl's are something I've only been using for a short while, but I've always loved tape mani's specifically for that awesome feeling you get when you pull it up and see a clean, straight, perfect line.  Same thing with vinyl's, except you don't have to build all of your patterns with straight pieces. :D Finally, I lined the divide between the chevrons with black acrylic paint to help tie it in to the other nails, and top coated.
So, with so many of my favourite things rolled together, it's a bit of a no-brainer that I would love this mani, and I do.  My black lines could be a little cleaner, especially the by the tip on the pinky nail, but from any reasonable distance they looked pretty perfect.

So, what do you guys think of this mani?  I can't help but feel this would have been perfect for the "your signature style" prompt, and that now I won't be able to come up with anything as good for that. That's weeks away though, so I'll worry about it then :D

In the meantime, as always, you guys should check out the other mani's for today by visiting the thumbnails below....

    1. hehe, thanks so much lovely! Maybe I am being a bit hard on myself, but I'm really striving to improve my brushwork so it's kind of a good thing. Especially when I have lovely readers to make me feel better about it afterwards :D xxx

    1. Awwww wow! Thank you so much lovely! I've needed a little kick up the bbum, as I kind of lost my mojo a little and started posting way less. I decided to start this about 3 days before it began, so half of my mani's have been painted the night before, and it seems to be workin well for me. I don't have the time to over think things I guess :D xxx
