UK Indie Month - Dragonglass Nails - Thor

Happy Halloween!  Today is also the last day of UK Indie Month, and I have 3 more brands to get through, so you lucky people will get 3 posts from me today.  Hopefully your blog roll is so chock-a-block with Halloween mani's that you can forgive me for not having one for you today.  Anyway, I like Halloween mani's all year round, so I'll do some eventually, even if it's in the middle of summer XD

#33DC - Day 17 - Artwork with your favourite brand

Hello gorgeous people!  Today is Day 17 of the #33DC, and that means we're more than half way through : (  The prompt for today is to do some artwork with your favourite brand.  For me that has got to be Barry M.  They are always bang on trend, have great formula's, an extensive shade range and great value too.  I know the Sequin Effects were a massive let down, however Nails Inc beaded polishes look exactly the same, and they're nearly 3 times as pricey.  I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions from that!

Nails Inspire - Nail Art with Strawberry Jellie

Hello again gorgeous people!  I'm back with my third and final post of the day, and this is the nail art I did over Nails Inspire - Strawberry Jellie.  I was going to do a jelly sandwich with this, but after trying it over the thumb nail, the blue shimmer took over the design completely.  Luckily, I took some pictures before hand, as I thought it may turn out that way.  (Not that I'm complaining, that's why I love it!)

UK Indie Month - Nails Inspire - Strawberry Jellie

Hi again.  I'm back with my second UK Indie of the day, and this is Nails Inspire - Strawberry Jellie.  This particular polish is from her very first collection, and I absolutely love it.  It's a hot pink jelly, totally loaded with blue shimmer, and small specks of silver holographic glitter.  The other jellie polishes have larger glitters in them, which is usually what I'd choose, but the blue shimmer in this was too good to turn down.

UK Indie Month - Tara's Talons - Atagatis

Hi guys, I'm back with yet another stunning UK Indie polish to show you today.  This beauty is Atagatis, courtesy of the wonderful Tara's Talons.  I actually bought this as part of an any 4 mini's for £9.50 deal, but I really regretted only getting 5ml of this, so I've actually purchased 2 more mini bottles since : )  Atagatis is a rainbow mix of different sizes of hexes and dots, with large light blue hexes, and large holo peach circles.  I love those circles so much, they shine like crazy!

#33DC - Day 16 - South America

Hi guys and girls.  I'm back today for Day 16 of the #33DC and the prompt for today is South America.  I was totally stumped on this prompt for ages, and I ended up asking the rest of the Crumpets Nail Tarts on facebook to help me out with inspiration.  I had so many great suggestions from loads of ladies which I'm truly grateful for, they were all amazing.  However, as is usually the way for me, I promptly had my own idea after asking for help!  I know you may all be wondering exactly how this mani is related to South America, and I promise I'll explain after the jump!

UK Indie Month - Pocket Money Polishes - I Want Candy

Hi guys and girls.  I'm back today with another gorgeous UK Indie Polish to show you.  This is I Want Candy by Pocket Money Polishes.  This a vibrant mix of big green squares, smaller pink squares, blue and yellow hexes, smaller red hexes, and tiny green specks.  I love the colours in this polish, they just work so beautifully together, and the overall effect is just so smile-inducing!

Chocolate Stamping

Hello again : )  This is the stamping I did over Sally Hansen - Chocolate Nut that I promised to show you earlier.  Since this is the first mani I've ever done with a brown base, I decided to play it safe, and stick with a colour I knew would look nice - Barry M - Gold Foil Effects

Fragrance Direct Friday (on Saturday)

Hi peeps, welcome to the weekend!  I'm back today for yet another instalment of Fragrance Direct Friday, and I have 3 polishes to show you.  First up is this yummy chocolate colour above by Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear, called Chocolate Nut - available here for just 99p (surprise surprise!))  This is a really nice brown with lots of golden shimmer.  I originally bought this polish just because I didn't own a single brown, but once I swatched this I really liked it.  It really does remind me of chocolate - I was hankering for some Galaxy while I painted these I can tell you!

#33DC - Day 15 - Animals

Hi guys and girls.  I'm back today for Day 15 of the #33DC and the prompt for today is animals.  I was planning to do something else originally, but I remembered I had these little dolphin glitter shapes that are just adorable, so I decided to use them instead. After all, who doesn't like dolphins?

UK Indie Month - Nail Lacquer UK - Princess Halloween

Hi again : D  This is the second lovely UK Indie I have to show you today which is Princess Halloween from Nail Lacquer UK.  This is the 1st polish I have bought from Nail Lacquer UK, and I love it.  I also bought a 4ml grab bag at the same time, and AJ sent me the gorgeous Ice Queen, a stunning flakie topper.  Great choice!  And her mini's are the cutest little OPI shape bottles, with a hand-made charm around the neck.  Mine had a snowflake.  Seriously adorable, my fiancee was looking at me like I was mad because I kept saying 'awww look'   : )

UK Indie Month - Hairy Legs London - Monsters Boo!

Hello lacquer lovers! Today I am continuing with UK Indie Month, and I will be double-posting today.  There will be a bit of that going on until November, as I'm trying to post as many UK indies as possible in between the 33 day challenge and Fragrance Direct Friday which only leaves me with Tues, Thurs and Sunday to use!  Anyway, this beauty I have here is Monsters Boo! from Hairy Legs London, which is actually a replacement polish for Monstrous Crater.  The original developed a little reflective curling, and Sanita took them straight off the shelves, and introduced this polish instead.  That says a lot about how much she cares about the quality of her products, and the replacement is equally stunning, and very similar too.  Consider me impressed : D

#33DC - Day 14 - Abstract

Hiya girls and guys!  I can't believe we're already at Day 14 of the #33DC already!  This is my first challenge, and I'm really enjoying it : D  I'll be sad when it's over.  The prompt for today is Abstract.  This was one I was a little dubious about at first look, but to be honest, I think this is my fave challenge mani so far!

UK Indie Month - Quirk - Peace is Free

Hiya guys and girls!  I'm back with another gorgeous UK Indie polish to show you today.  This is the beautiful Peace is Free by Quirk.  It's a mix of big and even bigger neon blue hexes, small translucent purple hexes, and larger purple matte hexes.  This is from Quirk's first collection called Boom Boom, which are all named after Black Stone Cherry songs.  Massive win for me, as I love Black Stone Cherry!  They are 4 different neon glitter toppers in the collection, and there are still a couple of each left on Sally Magpies if you want one.  Did I mention they glow under UV light?

#33DC - Day 13 - Chinese

Hi guys and girls.  I'm back for Day 13 of the ~33DC and the prompt for today is Chinese.  My mani was inspired by the stunning East Lake Cherry Blossom Park in Wuhan City, China.  If you haven't seen it, do a google image search for it - it is really beautiful there.

Fragrance Direct Friday (on Saturday)

Hey peeps!  I'm back with another instalment of Fragrance Direct Friday, and today I have the last 2 polishes from the Rimmel Lycra Pro range.  The shade you see above is Night Flight which is currently available for 99p here.  It's a really really really dark purple cream.  I love this colour, and it's a great dark base for glitters if you don't want pure black. This is shown at 2 coats here, no drama, and hardly any clean up needed!

#33DC - Day 12 - Pattern from your home.

Hi lovely people!  Welcome to Friday.  I'm back for Day 12 of the #33DC and the prompt for today is a pattern from your home.  I don't really have patterns in my home, but I knew as soon as I saw this prompt that I wanted to base my mani on my bedding.

Hairy Legs London - Tainted Love

Hi everyone, looking forward to the weekend?  As you may, or may not know, October is UK Indie month.  At the start of this month, I didn't own a single UK indie, mostly because I wasn't aware there were so many.  However, I'm pleased to say that I an now the proud owner of 21 of them! b(25 if you count A-England's)  I know, I have problems, but don't we all?

#33DC - Day 11 - 3D

Hi everyone, happy hump day!  I'm back again for Day 11 of the #33DC and the prompt for today is 3D.  I don't normally do a lot of 3D nails, mostly because I can't stop picking at them when I do.  However, since this is a challenge, I decided to go for glittery stud-fest.  And why not!

#33DC - Day 10 - Flowers

Hi guys, did you have a good weekend?  I'm back today with Day 10 of the #33DC and the prompt for today is flowers.  First, I would like to apologise for the grainy-ness of my photo's today.  I was fiddling around with my camera settings without really knowing what I was doing! (As you do)   I appear to have fixed it now, but not before taking this mani off : ( Hopefully, it's not too bad for you guys to look at.

Fragrance Direct Friday (on Sunday)

Hi everyone, how was your weekend?  I'm back today with another instalment of Fragrance Direct Friday (sorry it's such a late one by the way)  Any of you who saw part 2 of my haul post yesterday will already know that I was planning to do this post yesterday, but had what I called a brain fart, and ended up with nothing to post!  I may have accidentally swatched the wrong polish, and although it was the same brand, and also a very similar colour, it isn't on the site, and I didn't get it from there!  So, I ended up doing the swatches for this post earlier this afternoon!

Haul of Shame - Part 2 (and some great deals on A-Englands)

Hi everyone.  As promised, I have the second part to my haul post on Tuesday.  I have since picked up 1 more A-England - Lady of The Lake- which is the gem of the month this month, meaning you can get it for £6 here with free UK delivery too.  I also noticed that they have launched some sets called Harmonies where you can buy a few of their polishes together with some pretty nice discounts.  I am seriously pining for Harmony in Black!

#33DC - Day 9 - Indian

Hiya lovely people - happy Friday!  I'm back for Day 9 of the #33DC, and the prompt for today is Indian.  I had a really nice mani planned for this which included some nail stickers and stamping, but when I went to apply the stickers, they were rubbish.  They kept tearing at the slightest tug, so I binned them, and decided to just go with the stamping on all the nails.  Unfortunately, I must have been really off my game by then, as I couldn't get on with that stamping image either, so in the end I chose this.

Quick update from me, and What the British Nail Bloggers have been up to this week.

Hi guys, thanks for stopping by!  Things for me this week are a little bit cray, as I am having a new kitchen and central heating fitted.  So, I'm afraid I don't have any lovely nails to show you today.  Never fear though, I can show you what the other British Nail Bloggers have been up to this week, and I will still have my mani for Day 9 of the 33 day challenge tomorrow.  I will still be posting at least 3 times a week, but may not be able to do any more than that for a week or two.  Sorry!
Anyway, have a look at all these lovely mani's instead:

Guest Post at PishPosh and Polish

Hey all, this is just a quick post to tell you something very exciting, which is that I have just done a guest post for the wonderful Kerrie of PishPosh and Polish.  Click here to see the full post on her blog (with glitter macro). Kerrie is a fantastic blogger, and I'm dead chuffed that she let me take over her blog for the day - thanks Kerrie.....you rule!

#33DC - Day 8 - Chevrons

Hi guys!  I'm back for Day 8 of the #33DC and the prompt for today is Chevrons.  This is another style of nail art that I haven't attempted before, so once again, I decided to keep it simple. I love that this challenge is pushing me to try new things, it's one of the reasons I wanted to participate, and I've liked a lot of the mani's that have come out of it too!

Haul of Shame - Part 1

As some of you may already know, I've been planning a haul post for quite a while now.  I still have packages that I'm waiting on, but this afternoon I took photos for the ones I already have, and I realised there was quite a lot of them, so I've decided to break it up into 2 parts.  The rest will be up in a week or so barring any major hold up with Royal Mail.  Anyway, if you would like to come and perv at them I'll see you after the jump. : D

#33DC - Day 7 - Art featuring your oldest untried.

Hi lovely people.  Today is Day 7 of the #33DC and the prompt for today is art with your oldest untried.  As crappy luck would have it, my oldest untried was a sheer wash of nothing for french mani's.  It's by Revlon and it's called barely peach.  I have never done a french mani on myself, I used to get pink and white acrylics at the salon for years, so have no interest in having them again.  On a sidenote, I was paying £10 more a set for "UV Gel" nails, but was being ripped off by the salon who were still using acrylic!  They just grabbed a different pot, and told me it was gel.  The nerve of some people eh!   Anyway, I digress.................................

Fragrance Direct Friday (on Sunday)

Hi gorgeous girls (and guys), how are you?  I'm really sorry I didn't get this posted yesterday like I planned to.  I had a really busy day with work, and just didn't have enough time to get the photos watermarked and the post typed up before falling asleep.  I was shattered last night!   Anyway, I'm back with another instalment of Fragrance Direct Friday, and the polish I have for you today is a real beaut!

#33DC - Day 6 - Texture

Hi everyone, happy Friday!  Hope your week's been good.  I'm back today with Day 6 of the #33DC, and the prompt for today is texture.  When I put this mani together, I only owned 3 textured polishes; however I have bought 7 more in the last 2 weeks!  Never mind, I'm sure I'll find a way to incorporate them into some of the other prompts in the challenge.

#33DC - Day 5 - Mexican

Hi guys.  I'm, back for Day 5 of the #33DC challenge, and the prompt for today is Mexican. This was a difficult prompt for me.  I'm going to be really honest here and say that I know basically nothing about Mexico, and I don't own the Mexican stamping plate either, so I was pretty short on ideas from the word go!   I did however manage to throw something together in the end, as is evident from the picture above : )
